Trying to get in the spirit of the forum i thought i would recount my 'moment' on the way to work this morning.

Fast quiet dual carriageway, down sloping slip road, same journey driven everyday.

Brake for end of slip road into roundabout, not alot happens!!!

Press harder and harder!!!! Visions of avoiding action of concrete bridge support, down into second, back end squirms all around under engine braking, car stops on the line.

I hate the brakes, i hate the brakes!!!!!

I know.

Too much speed. Heavy car. Little discs. Roll on Tuesday.

I was in exactly the same situation, a couple of weeks back, except that I didn't make it around the roundabout ..... the standard brakes really are not good enough. I'm having the Linden stage 2 upgrade and ripshifter fitted in a couple of weeks .... I'm going to have to add upgraded brakes to the list.

It really is my only critism of the car. Everything else is exactly what it says on the tin. I was going to do upgrade, but decided to change for VXR. We will see how that fares.

How much are you getting trade in on the V8 for the VXR?

I am interested in residuals - both V8 and VXR before I get out my wad, so any pointers welcome.
