Door glass felt
Discussion
The horizontal strip of felt that sits against the glass of the driver's door (the one at the base of the window, inside the exterior rubber sealing strip) has deteriorated on my Monaro and is actually missing for a few inches. This has resulted in faint vertical scratches to the door glass at that section, presumably because grit has managed to find its way in, which has then scratched the glass when the window is raised and lowered.
Any ideas for sorting this problem? I'm sort of resigned to taking it to my local Vauxhall dealer and asking them to replace the felt, unless anyone has any other ideas. I can't see how to access it, even if I could source a replacement.
I may live with the slight vertical scratches as presumably new side glass is expensive, but I would like to sort the felt so the problem doesn't get any worse. As well as scratching the glass, it must also be letting rainwater in - after heavy rain there is sometime a little bit of water on the sill plate when I open the driver's door.
Any ideas?

How did you go about replacing it, BlueDevil? Does it just prise out with the window down? I was assuming you would have to strip the door apart.
The trim I changed was attached to the B pillar. Remove the black trim on the B pillar this has a location pin at the top so gently pry away the top edge then slide it up, don't pull it forward as you will break the tabs. The felt strip is simply screwed in place Change it over then slide the trim in from the top again then push the locating pin back into position then your done. Very simple to do.

I'll have a look when I get home tonight but I suspect the B pillar felt might be easier than the felt along the base of the window, which is recessed. A search on US fleabay reveals this, which I think is the part:

Note the seller's comment that "removing this part requires patience and skill" and "this item requires removal of the door panel".

We got some for a GTS about 4 years ago. They were £20.00. Note they are shorter than monaro ones. Dont think they would be all that much.
Ive always found running the pressure washer along it helps keep the grit out of the felt. Just washing it just rinses the grit into the felt!
That sounds familiar, I don't think they cost very much. The door trim might have to come off to get to various connectors and screws???Ive always found running the pressure washer along it helps keep the grit out of the felt. Just washing it just rinses the grit into the felt!
This is where we used to get the mirror glasses from. The prices shown do not include shipping or taxes, and then you'll have to get them sent out to members, so I used to say that whatever you see in $ is the price you will have to pay in £.

Update: got a price from my Vauxhall dealer of £76.20 per weatherseal. Quite a lot for a strip or fuzzy felt and a bit of rubber, but not quite as bad as I feared, so I think I'm just going to take the hit. Could mess around trying to get a used one off a breaker, but what condition is it liable to be in? Best just to suck it up and get it sorted with a new one, I reckon. In fact, I might do both sides as the passenger side looks like it might be starting to go as well. The old girl deserves it.
Update: Had the felt/rubber seals at the base of the door glass replaced by my local Vauxhall dealership today. The right one was £61.50 plus VAT and the left one was £63.50 plus VAT (oddly, as I'm sure they must be identical).
Part numbers are 0092093578 (right) and 0092093580 (left). Those part numbers appear to check out with the pdf of Pontiac GTO parts available on wikiauto (see the section on “Front Door” on the 10th page):

Labour was £50 plus VAT (at £85 an hour), which suggests it's little more than a half hour job. Probably easy enough to do yourself, but I was too chicken/lazy to pull my doors apart.
