I'm afraid I won't be joining you guys at the Ace Cafe on Saturday.

My VXR has had an unfortunate meeting with a hedge.

I was going up hill around a sharp corner on a wet road and the back end decided to slip out and put me into the hedge opposite.

Front spoiler is in bits, along with the fogs (though the units seem intact). The metal pan under the radiator is pushed in a bit too. There are no leaks, and the engine seems to run fine too - it got me home and performed perfectly (no overheating or other anomolies).

Anyone any idea how long it will take for a garage to get a new front spoiler? I'm having to go through the insurer's garage as it's the only way I'll get a curtousey car.

I'm counting myself damn lucky that this is my first ever accident, and it's (hopefully) only cosmetic damage, and noone else was involved, nor hurt!

Have you checked the radiator support panel?? The panel on top of the radiator under the plastic shrouding. That has a habit of buckling in a front on excursion!
Good luck with the repairs......any small bits and pieces I may be able to get them down here.

I should have known.

The wrong parts arrived.

When they went back to Vauxhall they said they didn't know how long it would take to get the right parts.

Does anyone have contacts in Vauxhall/Holden/HSV who might be able to help me and the insurer locate the bits I need?!

"Cubittus" your car is a HSV GTO Coupe so your parts will need to come from a HSV dealer!!!

Try Steve or Keith at South City Holden Melbourne on (03) 9627 3333 (9hrs ahead of us)say the UK owners club sent you (might get some discount)

UPS will air freight in about 4 days or by sea it will be 6 weeks......

"Dave52" your rear bumper is a UK spec item (as it has a fog lamp) so OZ dealers might find it hard to get, but I would expect Vauxhall to carry this item as they are only made for this country!!!!

I will try and get part numbers if I can to help.....

You're not going to believe this .... you can add me to the mishap list

Clipped a kerb with the rear wheel as I left a roundabout .... the front end then went to the left and into a 6" granite kerb .... front wheel shattered and it will will need a new front wishbone as the wheel now sits at a funny angle .....

Car is at the Vauxhall dealer now awaiting an estimate.

Note to self: this is the first car that I've had that needs traction control switched on in the dry!

This is the first accident I've had in 18 years

Deary me! What are you guys doing?!!!
Get well soon!!

They should give you a phone number you can call in OZ so you can organise spares and ask odd questions that Vauxhall might not know the answer too.

"Cubbittus" is it only the front bumber (Australians call it front Bar) that you need or is there more damage?
