Mark or DoughBoy as he is known down under is a well respected LS1 tuner and he knows the UK market well as he has produced PCM tunes for LSV and Capa.
The last time I was in contact with Mark he said he could supply a mail order PCM for $700 AUD (£280) which would require you to send your PCM to him in OZ for the tune to be flashed onto it or a better idea is to buy a new PCM (£120) from him and he could add the tune to that and you can keep your origional PCM just incase.
To get the best from any Edit it would make sense to change the CAI add the Maf pipe and fit a good cat back exhaust, With these changes you will get 210rwkw which on a auto would be 365BHP - not bad for about £1200!!!
Part of the tune changes the torque management in the autobox which gives you better/fast gear changes.

I've used three places for them.
First one was done by Powerchip........

1] I had to send my PCM to Oz for this and had the "Gold 98" tune.. I don't know if you can buy PCM's outright from them, though they are part of the Superchips Group and have a very good reputation.
For the Gold 98 tune they give you the HSV Clubsport R8 tune, to the best of my understanding and the "after" dyno reading with a twin 2.5" system, no cats and Pacemaker 1-5/8" tri-Y's along with some Intake mods was 297rwhp, with a good power curve.
They do not lift the speedlimiter, change the rev-limit, turn off either TM (for autos) or cat-protection though and this is because they give a 3-year warranty with the "chip."
2] Chipmaster also did a tune (www.info@chipmaster.com.au) and Daniel can supply outright PCM's.
I sent my Powerchipped PCM though, and it was returned with the TM turned off, cat-protection removed and the AFR's set at between 12.6 and 12.2 instead of dropping to 10:1 above 5000rpm (for the cat-protection).
A dyno run with this and some better intake mods and GMPP red sparkplug leads gave 313rwhp (@5750) and a stronger curve all the way from 2750rpm.
3] After this an LS1edit PCM was tried (bought outright) and gave similar results to the Chipmaster one.
To be frank, I thought Powerchip's service & tune was the most professionally done and gave good results.
Though there is an argument for having the AFR's sorted as 12.5 to 13.2:1 is where best power/torque is made if you are after the best tune possible.
I tried a maf-less tune too but am back with a maf tune at the moment.

Personally not had a problem with the clutches burning out under normal driving, however for the strip its a good idea to tighten the changes up, and also manual changes are much more fun with a tuned box. Daniel at chipmaster tuned my car after i had the supercharger fitted. He also did a neat job of tuning the auto gearbox - economy mode nice and slushy but with a good kick 1st to 2nd but in power mode the gear changes are neck snapping. Slight warning however, if the car changes gear on corners prepare for some serious sideways action, even in the dry. He can also program where in the rev range the torque converter locks up so it doesn't "wander" through 3rd and forth so much.
By the way, just spent 2 weeks in the uk - boy your summer really sucks! lol
