Ive been offered a very decent px on my 992T and F Type V8 against a MC20.

Stick or twist?

Are the MC20's proving reliable, how far will they fall below £140k, any known issues? how expensive to service?

Make sure the dimensions fit your life - it's a surprisingly big car.

Can't speak for reliability because I've never plucked up the courage to buy a Maserati!

We have owned a few Maseratis and never had any issues with reliability.

On the MC20, spent several days with one. Really enjoyed it.

I watched Harry Garage review of both the MC20 and Cielo last night. What stood out for me were a few points which would make the car a non starter as a daily driver, namely the doors which require considerable clearance to open, the tiny fuel tank and disappointing fuel economy. Add to this the fact that you would require an annual service at Maserati (which wont be cheap), and like all Italian exotics, would be very mileage sensitive.

They are temptingly cheap right now, but i feel that its not quite exotic to be a Sunday car, and not an easy car to be used as daily as you would an R8 or 911 Turbo. Depreciation now seems to have stabilized.

Had a pain in the backside issue which was the stereo amp, which tarnished the experience. Mechanical reliability hasn't been an issue at all and it is pretty blummin' licence-losingly quick! It doesn't feel any bigger than my Huracan to drive, albeit you do have to be mindful of the doors - but the fact that the doors are as they are more than makes up for the inconvenience!

MPG has been pretty good for me - low-mid 20's, and definitely the latter on a motorway run. If you've moved on, then fair enough! I've considered a 720 at times, as a comparable kind of car, but am quite mindful of the very well documented reliability issues of Mclaren's, much more so than a modern Maserati (on my 6th and have had very, very few problems overall, over 12 years of ownership - no more so than any regular brand car, indeed the only car I can recall which has never had a single issue has been my Huracan that I had for 7 years - never missed a beat in any way)

Sold my MC20 recently. I owned it for just over a year.

To drive, it’s up there amongst the best, ridiculously fast and I liked the interior, simple, uncluttered and everything worked while I owned it.

The only issue for me was the sound which I found muted and not particularly tuneful.

Great cars and at £140k/£150k felt very special every time I drove it - reactions very positive, people loved it.
