Hi;
Anyone on here have any experience or own the Quattroporte with the 3.8 t/t engine?

I’ve been trying to find as much information as possible on the same engine but not many owners have posted their reviews, regardless of forum. There seems to be the odd complaint about an ECU going wrong but I haven’t found anything about mechanical problems, even on forums in the USA where ownership of the V8 seems more prevalent. Did you happen to take the plunge and buy the blue QP that got list a week or two ago?

Thanks for the reply.
Hope to be getting one today if everything goes well.
I'm finding the same as you, very little information available.

I was looking recently also. Main issues are per below, but not overly ruinous nor regular (not sure about ECU though)…

Steering rack
Turbos
ECU

Nice!! I’ve test driven one and am keen to purchase, just need to get rid of my Panamera first. How was the drive home?

How’s it going with the new car OP? I put a deposit down this week on the QP Trofeo at Dick Lovett, can’t wait to pick it up on Friday.

Hi;
Good so far. Nice to drive and sounds good. Not sure about some of the switchgear, cruise control not easy to use, the steering wheel controls are a bit fiddly.
Not bad on fuel considering the power/performance. So rare, so usually gets attention and looks. Reverse camera has a mind of its own, works when it feels like it but, not really bothered about that.
Must update with some pics, soon.

The cruise and menus aren’t very easy use at all, especially the little up/down toggles.

Sometimes water gets into the cameras, worth a look, you can get pattern replacements that are direct fit for not a lot of money.

I picked it up on Friday and it’s been used for countless unnecessary errands over the weekend. After a decade of various Panameras, this car has so much more character and also comfort. Maserati did an upgrade in 2021 for the QP and the tech on my car is pretty impressive actually - more so than I was expecting but I agree with you about the cruise control being a bit fiddly.

The only thing I’m noticing on mine is a bit of suspension noise (I think) from the rear on rough roads at low-ish speeds, say under 30mph. I have read a little about this but more on the Ghibli than the QP.

I’ve got a couple of trips with the car this week, so I’ll get to enjoy it while it’s still showroom fresh. Dick Lovett were excellent to deal with, I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
