I struggled to find owner reviews before I bought my 2018 Gen 6 Maserati Quattroporte last week so I thought I should start my own thread now I am the proud owner of a superb example.
2018, diesel, only 6k miles, black paint, with black/grey Zenga interior. I'll take more photos once it stops raining!
First week of ownership has been a joy, love the looks, cruising comfort, quality of the leather, everything about it. Thought my diesel days were done, but it suits my needs & the car, its a bit clattery at tick over & pull away, but on the move no issues, active exhaust noise is good with a hint of V8
Ok who else has one????
Its a rare car in the UK, I've never seen another! I'm interested in owner views, common faults, servicing costs, joys of ownership, photos etc etc

Congratulations on your purchase, so much car for the money. I keep looking at them but it’s not that easy to get a test drive to figure out whether it’s one for me. I’ve nothing to add other than to say I’m really keen to hear about real life ownership experiences and not just the ‘my mate’s mate had one and it was unreliable’.

I paid £45k for a 2018 car, which I feel is top end, but the car was one owner, full main dealer history, extremely low miles. I bought from a specialist Auto 100 (a disappointing buying experience, but the car was right) After only a few hundred miles so far I'm smitten, it looks the business inside & out, so different from the norm, which was a big part of my decision making. The quality of the interior is top end, the tech is acceptable, it accepts apple car play via a lead. The ride is probably a little firm compared with say an S class, although I've never driven one!! but its more than acceptable (and my wife agrees)
Motorway cruising is a delight, my main reason for the car is to tour UK & Europe over the next few years.
If your like me you've probably already decided in your head its the car for you, I'm so happy I took the plunge. Although I do feel you need a 1-2 owner with a full history. I'll keep posting as I discover more about the car.
I did look at a Ghibli, & they are very nice but for me the QP has the interior space I wanted.
You’ve listed all the reasons why I want one! I’ve had a few Panameras on the trot and while they’re great, I’d be interested to try something else and most of my driving is done on motorways these days. I’ve driven a few thousand miles in S Classes and they’re absolutely amazing for long journeys with 4 people but it’s way too big for the majority of the time, when I’m on my own. I would look at an S Class coupe for that reason but the Maseratis offer so much more value and are rarer to boot. I tried the Ghibelline a while ago and it didn’t really feel very special to me.
Like the styling of the Quattroporte, so much better than the usual German suspects and, as mentioned, the exclusivity is a real bonus!
My QPV was on the DadCars YouTube channel last week and Ben demonstrated how easy it was to get three cars seats across the back, as well as one in the front. Plenty of space and the double glazing makes the cruising at speed such a pleasure.
Mine has the Ferrari F136 V8 so fuel consumption won’t be rivalling the diesel variant, but it’s a small price to pay in my eyes.

I still want one, the design is almost two decades old now but it still looks 'right', even allowing for my own bias towards Italian stuff.

It’s the ZF box. I hear the DuoSelect are fun, but I just didn’t fancy monitoring clutch wear and knowing there’s a big job every so often. I still want one, the design is almost two decades old now but it still looks 'right', even allowing for my own bias towards Italian stuff.

So good to hear there are other QP 6 appreciators out there 😃 the V8 Ferrari engine is certainly the one everyone wants that’s for sure, good call if you can manage the thirst for fuel.
The diesel isn’t that great on fuel I get 37mpg on a long motorway run, how’s the V8?
I’ve only had the car a few weeks and it really does attract a lot of attention, people waving, flashing headlights, standing and gawping 👏 feel like a rock star in it.

As Jonny says it a ZF, and I’m finding it works well left to it’s own devices, slightly clunky if the come to an almost stop and then pull away. I don’t have paddles but the gear selector in manual mode is responding reasonable quick, it’s no duel clutch but suits the car.Worth a watch (even if I do say so myself)

I’ve managed to get 31mpg on the M4 and M25, thanks in part to the reduced speed limit near Reading. Usually mid-higher 20s on a run. The diesel isn’t that great on fuel I get 37mpg on a long motorway run, how’s the V8?

Love that rock star feeling. You just wouldn’t get it with an S class / gopping 7 or bland A8!

We took the FF to lake Garda and managed to break down
The courtesy car was a diesel QP. I swear we attracted more looks in the QP than we did in the Fezza.
Go figure!
My wife loved the car. The only thing which I found irritating was the gearstick selector's inability to find reverse (I think it was) as it seemed to overshoot.

This has been my daily for for the last 4 years. V6S with 410bhp. Bought at 2 year old with 5000 miles on the clock and currently sat at 48000 miles. Can't say that I've had any major issues or massively unexpected costs in that time. Servicing (typically annual) carried out at main dealers and usually involves me running round in something from the current range for a few days (was a V6 Levante Modena last time). Cost-wise looking at about £900 for the service. As for MPG....best not to ask Typically averaging out at around 19 mpg but on a decent run that goes up to the low/mid 30's
Replaced pads at 25k and getting ready to do discs/pads fairly soon. prices of parts not ridiculous (if you shop around).
First car I ever put winter tyres on (as I found that the P-Zeros were pretty awful once the tempreatures dropped). Opted for the MGT spec Sottozero's and the difference was amazing. Once the weather decides what to do with itself this year will be switching back to them again for the "colder" months.

Needs a replacement bush in a lower part of the suspension. Maser won’t sell it separately and want £1,300 for a whole piece. I’ve got a chap on the case and hopefully I’ll get it sorted at a quarter of the price. Awesome cars and worth every penny

Bugger about the FF breakdown last thing you need, Interesting to read your comment about gear selection, I found the same initially but getting used to it.
My wife loves our QP as well, never a bad thing, she’s says it’s the first car we’ve had with suspension…… after a run of sports cars.
