Maserati have announced details of their new V6 engine destined to make it's debut in the MC20 in September. They've given it the name "Nettuno". It's a 90deg V6 with 630 CV (621 BHP), redline at 8000 RPM and max torque of 730 Nm @ 3000 – 5500 rpm.

That looks very nice indeed. I wonder how much of this engine is a new design though. Has the same config (90' twin turbo) and stroke as the Alfa Giulia which in turn is meant to be a Ferrari engine less 2 cylinders.... But both those are impressive engines so who wouldn't use the same DNA. Are there any non-cloaked shots of this car yet...

It's a totally new design. This film gives the background to it.

Goes some way to understanding how 11:1 CR is possible with FI (forced induction, not fuel injection!). Multiple flame fronts, missus wink
