Before I trundle off to the main dealer down the road, I’d value any advice from anyone who knows how to fix malfunctioning power folding mirrors on a GranTurismo.

I folded the mirrors in when I parked in a car park this morning, but they have refused to fold out again, other than moving a few mm in either direction when I operate the switch. Driving home 32 miles with the side mirrors folded in was harder (and more dangerous) than I’d expected!

Any ideas as to the likely underlying fault? I suspect it’s a switching problem, but I’m really not sure.

Many thanks!

Hi, just about to buy a 2011 and when viewing folded the mirrors in the the left side got stuck and moves a few mm but won’t come back out, did you manage to find out what caused this problem? Right side is fine going in and out with no issues, left just clicks a bit and that’s it. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks, Kev

I'd get someone to press the button whilst you gently try and get it to move.

Sometimes just a bit of gunk, or perhaps it forgot where it was.

Many Thanks, we did try that and it felt pretty solid so didn’t want to break it by putting too much pressure on it. I’ve seen people say disconnect the battery and leave it for a bit then it will reset but this seems more mechanical as it does try to move with power going to the motor but just really strange that it won’t retract….

Mine played up a few months ago and I just helped it on its way if I needed to fold mirrors. Now the other has stopped which is likely a reset issue. I just leave them alone now. However if it is trying to work, then likely to be need for grease or dodgy connections that have a bit too much resistance to let a good amount of power to get to the motor.
