As the owner of a 4.7 Granturismo I would say the Stradale is not worth the extra £20k (give or take) particularly if you find one (like mine) with the MC handling pack fitted the difference between the 2 models makes the cost to change more difficult to reconcile even using man maths.

I'd also say the interior needs spec'ing up on the std car to get it up to scratch. Some of the materials are a bit...low rent...otherwise.
The GT is a very big and heavy car. They Stradale doesn't really change this materially IMO.
It will almost certainly win on the residuals front. I strongly suspect the 2 seat version more so (a car that I see even less point in frankly, as one of the biggest selling points of the car (if not the biggest) is that it can seat 4 adults).
The noise on all of them is fantastic - I'd say one of the best production car sounds in standard form.
I've had my Stradale for nearly a year now and have no regrets at all - it is a car which grows and grows on you and I have appreciated it just that little bit more each time I drive it. I did consider a marginally cheaper (although not really that newer) "standard" GT, but plumped for the Stradale (13 mths old at purchase) for a variety of reasons;
- much preferred the look (stance, bonnet, exhausts, boot spoiler and interior in particular) - although no doubt all can be retrofitted at some cost to a GT
- the race mode isn't (from memory) available on the standard GT - and there is a very real difference to the "sport" setting in my opinion.
- Maseratis are rare enough on the roads, but I think I have seen only one other Strad during the past 11 months. Even at a recent 300+ strong SCD meet, there wasn't another.
I haven't really noticed the weight & weight distribution differences - as another poster mentioned, this is a heavy car and even c.80kgs' less doesn't make a lot of difference unless you are a driving god. I have valued the ceramic brakes on a few occasions, but as it isn't tracked, its a (very) nice to have in all reality.
Residuals were a definite thought even though I bought the car with the longer term in mind. Values on 4-5 yr old Strads however still seem to hold up quite positively, as there are so few, and even fewer when it comes to rare colours or 2 seaters. Equally I recognise there isn't a large pool of buyers out there given some of the idiosyncrasies of the marque - evidenced in part by some of the prices of new or very nearly new 2017 facelifted models.

I’m not knocking the MC Stradale- i really enjoyed my four days (!) of motoring in mine, until it spun on the M4 motorway and nearly killed me. Yes, written off four days after delivery - a real shame as it was one of last made.
I’ve daily driven plenty of cars with more bhp, but i’ve never driven a car so twitchy as this. The noise is fabulous, and it feels quite raw for a GT car which i liked, but do be careful if putting into Race mode and the road is cold / wet / slippery. It will bite without any warning. Which is another way of saying dont put it in Race mode unless a warm day with warm tyres and a safe place to do so. To be fair to Maser- they do say this in the manual. But i read that after the ‘event’.

I found this out with the the normal S MC Shift, let alone the straddle. Beautiful car, beautiful noise. Interior lets it down slightly and handling in the wet/cold was a joke IMO. Absolutely beautiful thing to look at and listen to though, lovely summer car.I’ve daily driven plenty of cars with more bhp, but i’ve never driven a car so twitchy as this. Your handling issues are almost certainly caused by P-Zeros, whether Corsa on a Stradale or "regular" on the GTS. Get them off and change to Michelin Pilot Sports and you will be utterly amazed at the transformation. The P-Zeros simply don't work unless it's above 10 deg, warm, dry and they are warm.
Go to sportsmaserati and speak to the group to learn more.
And by the way, the Stradale is worth every penny more than the GTS. You'll lose less money as well so it doesn't require too manipulation of your man maths calculator.

Yes ...it is
I've had both, the Stradale gave me much more confidence when driving quickly. It's a master piece
You can tell straight away that you are in completely different car and the noise is simply intoxicating.
Don't look back at your decision, you will love it

Whether it is worth a premium is up to you. I decided it was worth some premium when I purchased mine a week ago for all the reasons outlined above.
Worth noting that there are around 1,200 Granturismo's on UK roads of which only just over 100 are MC Stradales if How Many Left? is to be believed.
Whether that will mean Stradales depreciate more slowly than the rest remains to be seen. I bought mine to drive and with a plan to keep it for 5+ years so I'm not focussed on that.

So true on the MIchelins, night and day difference. Mine was lethal in the wet with PZs, yet to put the back out with the Michelin’s.Go to sportsmaserati and speak to the group to learn more.

I had one of the '1st gen' MC Stradale's with the buckets and no rear seats for about 18 months. I LOVED it. it's a big car but it shrinks around you. I drove the MC shift cars etc before I bought it but they were nothing like as raw/ sporty. The gearbox felt pretty ancient, even then but I enjoyed every other element. Noise, performance, ride, looks etc. If you can find a good one don't hesitate...this thread has me looking at them again, not a lot out there like it, especially with 4 seats!

Mmm. Not saying the Michelins are not great (I'm a fan but not tried the latest), but I drive my car all through the year on PZs and not had a problem. In fact I thought it was very forgiving on the snow for a rear driver, perhaps because the semi-auto has the gearbox and weight out the back. Mind you, this is all coming from many years taming TVRs so I may be tainted!Even though my Stradale came close to killing me one cold February night earlier this year, I’m now looking at them again. There’s just so few left around. The new 2018 version isn’t the same.
If I could get my hands on a Centennial edition I probably would try again....
ps - I have a MC Stradale blue leather owners wallet and all the manuals and books etc. Does anyone want / want to buy?
