I thought I'd start a thread on Masers of old, enjoy a nice wallow in nostalgia at your leisure...;)

One of the eight RHD Ghiblis at Gaydon recently, this one is an auto...

Childhood memory...

The Boomerang concept of 1972...

Ghibli photoshoot in Rome, 1969...

One of Giugiaro's sketches for the Bora...

I went down to a dealer near Marlow in 2010 to buy the Mk2 Cooper seen here, I had to grab a shot of the Indy while I was there...

As I've already said in your own thread - what a stunner, and very welcome!

In some ways Maserati are (almost) the forgotten marque amongst Italian exotica, but then they've always been a little more 'distant' than Ferrari, if that makes sense.

When you look at photos of the originals it highlights what a shame it is that marques reuse names on cars that are nothing like the original in any way, shape or form.

You wouldn't have thought coming up with something new would be that hard...

....or better still designing a car that was a proper successor smile

Couldn't agree more.... The Ghibli SS is a beautiful car, even the 90's Ghibli in cup form has appeal but while the Ghibli Diesel is certainly not a bad car, how any manufacturer can justify diluting the legacy of such great names is beyond me.

Got a few in for resto right now.

QP 4 Evo - just rolled out of the paint booth although I'm behind with the engine work:

3500 GT Spider. I really love this car and never get tried of seeing it...

Ghibli II. This one needs a lot of welding!

Come on chaps, surely someone must own my favourite Masser - the Khamsin?

I assume this thread is for owners pictures and not just regurgitated photos from Google?

As far as I'm concerned it's for anyone to post any classic Maseratis they like! I took a photo of a red Khamsin at Stoneleigh a few years ago, I'll see if I can find it.

(In my original post, the gunmetal grey and green Ghiblis, the red and brown Indys and red Bi-Turbo shots were taken by me wink)

Here are a few pics of our 1975 US spec Bora. A very competent, long legged, GT car. (PS - some more pics and info are posted in the Maserati Photo thread as well..)
Enjoy!

Lovely. I had a little burgundy matchbox one as a child and have wanted one ever since.

I somehow think the Matchbox version would not have had those horrible bumpers....

They are well built. While purchasing an inexpensive derelict Bora isn't for the faint of heart, given time it is not unreasonable to restore to roadworthy condition. It was built by hand, and it can be restored by hand. In my opinion, the biggest advantage is the engine - the cost of rebuilding a Maserati V8 is an order of magnitude less than any engine in Ferrucio and Enzo's cars.

..here I am starting brake and wheel maintenance, lubrication, flushing and bleeding. Compare the small size of the brake rotors with the size installed on most any passenger car today. The Citroen pressurized brake system is reliable and works very well.

Loved my 1968 Ghibli. replaced the 4.7 engine with a 4.9, which really suited the car! Really want it back!

I remember seeing this as a kid in Spain in the 70's - will always remember it, and I guess formed an affinity for the marque

And you'd be correct. It had Euro style bumpers in a tasteful lime green...
