Not a fancy spec one, just a nice, decent engine with a 'box, wiring loom and all that. I have an idea for a project that needs a V8

Funny you should say that, I've just bought one!

Admittedly it's on carbs and has an autobox, but hey, what do you want for £20....

Carbs would be fine, autobox a no-no

This sort of stuff comes up on Ebay fairly often and you can take your pick for a couple of hundred quid, trouble is you have no idea what spec or condition it is in. Could cost you another grand to get it into decent running order.

A manual gearbox for a rover is getting hard to come by.If you get a sherpra van gearbox it is very low geared or you can get a jag gearbox and just change the bell housing, a common fault on the boxes are third gear wont engage correctly. Ive destroyed 5 boxes in as many years so make sure that you get a good gearbox, prices for a box would be around £80 to £120 as for an engine you can pick up a good 3.9 rover engine for around £450 then you can modify from there, the sky is the limit.
