Hi
Is it worthwhile upgrading the brake hoses to braided stainless steel? What are the benefits and are goodridge a good choice or aeroquip?
Thanks
Si

The main benefits are that they don't perish and crack like old rubber ones, nor do they expand under pressure like rubber ones, meaning you get a firmer pedal.

Either make is fine.

Do you have to do the front and the back to get any benefit?

Yes - front and back !

It's a very cheap upgrade and you really notice the difference.

Would also recommend changing pads to EBC green stuff..
better braking performance as well as a firmer pedal !

I've got Green Stuff pads and I've had the front hoses upgraded (the old ones were worn) but I don't think the rear ones were changed. Maybe next service.

Err, roughly the same price as the TVR pads. All pads wear the disks but the disks are pretty cheap IIRC.

I've used Greenstuff V4 before but I prefer Pagid FR.

Green Stuff.... Just say NO.

I've used them in many TVRs when I couldn't get anything else. They eat disks and are extremely iffy until warm. I got into the habit of touching the brakes first to see what was going to happen before putting real pressure on them. I have no confidence in them at all.

Once they have overheated and faded, they never recover. They do look pretty though and they are cheap (maybe that says something). I currently use Ferodo DS2000 on my road and competition TVRs.
