Modifying harness for Lucas 14CUX EFi
Discussion
Hi,
I was told a while ago not to shorten the earth wires on an EFi harness "because the ECU knows the lenght and the performance will be affected if you shorten them"...is there any truth in this?
I have been looking at the harness tonight while trying to finalize the installation and the earth wires look to me like standard automotive wire. One of the jobs I'd like to do is to shorten the harness leg where it runs to the ECU connector...
Also does anyone know what family the terminals are for the ECU connector - it is an Amphenol 143-70011 which looks suspiciously like Tyco junior power timer terminals...
Hope you can help

Hi All,
First up - apologies for bringing a thread back form the dead.
The reason I've resurrected it is, I'm looking to build an plug in adaptor for the 14CUX wiring harness. I've exhausted my google ability and haven't been able to find the male side of the 40 pin plug.
The next steep was to sacrifice a 14CUX but thought I'd try here before ruining a perfectly good ECU.
So.. is anyone aware of where I could get the male side of the 40 pin plug?
Any and all help much appreciated.
Thanks,
rob

Good point stevieturbo,
For those not familiar with the 14CUX, this is the plug I'm looking for, ideally not connected to a perfectly good ECU
It's 40 pin and from the above posts maybe from the Tyco Junior Power Timer family, although I couldn't find anything matching in their catalogue.

Maybe contact this guy on Ebay who's selling the plug? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171788166975
