Autocraft SVE to display all manner of motors at the show in January

Autocraft SVE will be exhibiting at the Autosport Show with some serious kit on display.

Apart from a display of supercharging, there will be Cosworth power in both 6.0 litre quad-cam V8 and 2.0 DOHC forms, plus a selection of high-output engine packages available 'off-the-shelf'

Autocraft SVE will be debuting in the UK an all-aluminium block from Canada's Sean Highland Motorsport, which stretches Ford's 'modular' V8 4.6 litre to 6.0 litres. A complete twin-turbo 5.0 litre version of the same engine shows just how compact this unit can be, and is rated at a genuine 1,000 BHP!

Rounding out the Ford theme is a rare Focus 2.0 litre ST170 engine, made all the more special by a high-efficiency supercharger ProCharger conversion.

A demonstration rig with an electrically-driven ProCharger will allow visitors to gauge for themselves the effectiveness of these 'next-generation' centrifugal units. Dyed in the wool Cosworth fans should also appreciate the sectionalised 2.0 DOHC that powered 4-WD Sierras and then RS Escorts to victory after victory on rally and circuit.

Owners of classic cars powered by Ford's venerable 'Cologne' V6 will welcome a chance to look over a short-block Ultimax in 3.4 litre format. At the other end of the scale, the stand has an example of the Ford Mustang-spec 4.6 V8 quad-cam power train packages that Autocraft SVE are retailing as a ready-to-fit deal. 320 BHP, ECU, Tremec 5-speed transmission, catalysts and wiring harness, all for £7,637.50 - including the VAT.

1000 bhp . . . Who wants to try that? Save it for a trackday engine swap. Saw an 'old' Merc 500 spin out of control last week. For everyday use in everyday traffic the japanese power restriction is valid.

Ummm, me... and likely most PHers. Just cause you have it, doesn't mean you have to use it all the time. It's simply there to teach any pesky people a lesson. Well, and to incinerate rear tires...
