Loss of power engine will idle all day but apply power and it stalls. so far checked coil, fuel pressure,vacume leaks,checked ecu fault code 20 (oxogen senser) tried to change this but even lucas could not find replacement any ideas???

Would a Rover dealer not be able to help you out with an oxygen (lamda) sensor?

thanks guys fuel pressure ok compression test/dizzy/roter of the problem seems to be the oxygen sensor its a brass item with a push in connector but rover cannot find part and lucas says its not theirs ( its stampted lucas) anyone outthere with a K reg gti engine could you look at yoursl;

Hi,
Im not convinced that a Lambda sensor would cause the fault you have. Most ECU's will only adjust the mixture by around 5% to correct for the AFR from the Lambda sensor. To prove it is the sensor you could find the wire from the sensor to the ECU, disconnect it from the sensor and put a 0.45V supply on it. This is the voltage for the stoichiometric point, that the ECU is trying to adjust the mixture to. If you still have the same problem then its not the fault. You can use a 1.5V battery and a potentiometer to get 0.45V.
Or you could read the voltage from your sensor, but they do tend to jump around a hell of a lot so it might not prove anything,
