Hiya..
i just wanted to know the size and weight of K-series engine. Do anyone know this one ? including Fwd gear box..

Are all K-series engine same size external? (not internal, bore sizes, etc)

Is there Carb'ed version of K-series engine ?
if so which is likey donar car ?

Can't help with the size and weight, but I beleive the external dimensions are the same. IIRC the only carbed versions were 1.1 fitted to the Metro.

the engine weighs about 96kg for the 1.1/1.4 16valver and about 93kg for 1.6/1.8 16valver.

don't know about gearbox but there's about 4 versions of r65 pg1 and pg2 are the one i know of but someone said there was another so you'd have to see which gearbox you're using.

Carbing a non-vvc engine I wouldn't have thought would have been a big problem you just need some electronics to regulate the ignition.

Start looking for some Caterham! 1.8L with 230BHP!
How much power are you looking at?
A normal (non-carb) 1.8L is good for AT LEAST 160+ BHP with modding, depending on your budget.

K4 118 or 135ps: 105kg
K4 VVC: 110kg
KV6 190ps: 150kg


K4: L - 501mm W - 630 mm H - 629 mm
KV6: L - 477 mm W - 681 mm H - 655 mm
