Ford XR3i cvh eng+box replacement

If I was to rebuild a racecar that originally was designed for above mentioned engine and box, what could be a direct replacement for it?

Would the duratec engine fit straight in or something else (Zetec??)

Why not use the RS turbo engine and box?

Duratec will not drop straight in but would fit the space quite well

the zetec fits straight onto the cvh box, if you were to use the zetec box there are problems with the gearlinkage I think?

zetec is slightly taller than the cvh too, the duratec is much bigger so i'm unsure.
