This escort belonged to my girlfriend who just passed her test recently. The car is MK5 Ford Escort 1.4 CFI which done 70k mileage.

the car looses the power when you accerlating, rpm drop like lead balloon but doesnt stall, to get it moving again, my gf has to keep rev high and dump the clutch, but it only does it when its cold, or restarted the engine after few hours.

its quite scary and undriveable on busy roundabout.

I cleaned the throttle with WD40. Injection is witch black magic to me.

Any idea what shall i look for and clean/replace

As nobody has replied yet, I'll venture a reply.

You say that the engine runs fine when it has warmed up? I wonder if the sensor that tells the engine management what temperature it is has failed. I have no idea where abouts it is mounted, you would need a Haynes manual or similar to find out.

I'm not sure whether this engine still has a distributor, or if by then they had moved over to the "wasted spark" ignition. If it has a distributor, I would take the cap off and make sure the usual bits are clean.
