V8 inlet manifolds Yankee style?
Discussion
Not thinking of doing it , but what are the advantages (if any) of this type of inlet manifold against the 3 part Rv8 style?

Looks alot neater lower..
Hasnt anybody ever made something similar for the RV8?

It's probably been compromised in efficiency by making it to compact. This could be to do with vehicle safety legislation and bonnets designed not to touch the engine or vice versa. I quite like the rover's equal length inlet runners although I don't like the plenum as a whole. Looks a mess.

Yes, as you say it doesnt look great, this looks cool, whether or not it is as good.....
basically speaking the lower the manifold the tighter the air has to turn to get down to the heads, for instance if you are running a 4 barrell carb and then fit a spacer under the carb to intake manifold you will usually pick up around ten bhp, this is in general to do with the fack that after the air has left the carb it can take a nice sweeping curve around the spacer to the inlet port, a bit like going around a hairpin to going around a long curve the later being able to go faster the same apeals to the air! why do you think drag motors run massive high rise intakes!
