UN1 to V6 duratec
Discussion
Hi
Can anybody help me with any information regarding fitting a UN1 gearbox to a V6 duratec engine.I know you can get a bellhousing for the four pot duratec but the bolt pattern is different.
I,ve spoken to Kevin at GTORACING who can fit a new clutch shaft with a ford spline and maybe an adaptor plate, but was wondering if there were any other options or if anybody has accoplished this already.
many thanks ...Andy...

I think you'll be looking at an adaptor plate, or a transverse set up AKA Noble, using the Mundano gear box.
what are you building?

There were a few companies in the dim and distant past that used to make up adaptor plates for all sorts of wierd and wonderfull concoctions (Rover V8-Skoda transaxle was one!) thier names were "flowtech and UVA(of Kit car fugutive fame) Theres a Guy called Al on here that has got something to do with a chevy into esprit conversion, he may be able to help. Alternatively get a machine shop to make one up for you. If I remember corectly, the UN! has got a removeable bellhousing, if so, it may be possible to cut off the flange and weld/bolt on a Ford friendly one.Get some one who can measure up accurately to draw you some diagrams, then its down to the machiners!!
