I'm somewhat sceptical about the mpg claims, has anyone used the like of Millers or other diesel additives, and what do they think of them.

Worthwhile, snake oil or somewhere in between ??

My personal experience is that a couple of tanks of fresh diesel, an oil change and an Italian tune up does them more good than anything else. (Engine oil flush before oil change does seem to help with diesels too)

It's well worth cleaning out the egr valve/inlet manifold and possibly the intercooler if it's high mileage. MAF meters also fail regardless of what anybody says, cheaper to replace them from ECP.

1989 1600 cc renault diesel with 150k milage was starting to puff a bit and I thought it would fail the MOT, so I bought some millers power plus stuff and I'm a convert. After the start up smokescreen it runs well with no visible. Plus it really does feel crisper. It's not going to win any races but I feel It's nicer to drive.
IMO of course.

i have found millers very good in my hilux surf(2.4td) and i also use atf(mineral) as a injector cleaner, fill your diesel filter with atf and do a italian tune up,older diesels only, untested on commomrail etc.
