Webber/elderbrook or efi?

I am just doing a bit of research and the webber/elderbrook carb/manifold kits seem quite cheap..I just wondred if there would be much power gain over the standard RV8 efi..
Cheap? I must be a real tight git, as I tend to think £500+ is not cheap for a carb and manifold.
Ebay had some at £650 last week, brand new complete kit, with filter, studs, etc, but also the same kit, same seller, at £550 further down the page.
Buying the carb and manifold individually comes to £480 and change.
Not cheap.
Unless you know something (or somewhere) I don't....

The trouble with the efi set up is they do tend to go out of tune, carbs are much simpler...
How do you work this out?
Electronic parts dont move, the only things that could be wrong maybe the TPS settings and the like.
A carb has things to wear, vibrate loose
IMHO
