Hi, Simple question, Are the heads on pinto engines a straight swap between 1.6 & 2.0 ?

physically they are indeed a straight swap. however, something happens to the compression ratios when you do it if memory serves - not a big deal but it alters them slightly as the heads, although similar, are not identical.
im sure someone will be along shortly to clarify...

Pinto 2.0 litre block with the 1.6 head is the way to go.
Mainly for the port sizes as theyre oversized on the pinto which leads to lower port velocities.
The 1.6 head has smaller ports and when used on the 2.0 litre bottom end will give good increases in power.
Read a book by David Vizard (hero) called " How to modify Ford S.O.H.C. engines".

Hope this helps.
