Hi, Can anyone advise me of a good tuner who can jet and set up Quad 45 Dellorto's on a rover V8? seems everyone says they can, just when it comes down to it its to technical for them, im in south east UK, but if I have to travel for the right person then I will, any help would be gratefully received...

I think Guillotine runs Dellorto's on his Griff,he should be able to point you in the right direction.

migwell if you give me the specs of your engine i will put you in a ball park figure for the jets, but do you need them all balancing etc?

Have you tried San-speed in Bexlyheath, he seems quite good with Webers and a mate had a Ferrari with 4 webers set up there quite successfully.

Thanks V8 Racing, its a rover v8 4.2 with quad 45 dellortos, currently i am not sure of the cam, been told it was changed but unknown what to.
it currently has 70 idle jets, 180 main with 200 air collectors, and 45 accelerator pump jets, according to book this is about right, it runs a Mallory dual point dizzy, no airfilters just trumpets. I have had the carbs balanced but still not running right, spoke to a guy in crowborough yesterday he deals with v8 and racing them, he's hoping to take a look at it on friday... will keep you posted

thanks regarding San speed, have spoken to them and he is willing to take a look if I have no joy elsewhere but was a bit reluctant.

Also the GT40 club gave me a guy to ring as a lot of them run downdrafts, his name is John Wisher, will try him if no joy friday.

Thanks for the help guy's

dont really like sanspeed - tried them and have found them to be a bit rubbish tbh. the guy you need to speak to is Frank - sidcup engine tuning. hes mobile and knows more about carburettored engines than anyone else i know in existence - 0208 300 0151.
he may seem a little rough and ready but he is stunningly thorough and knows so much about his chosen field it really is astounding. seriously - i cant recommend him enough!

Might be worth speaking to Jim at Race Power in Gravesend. Sorry dont have their number, but he does know his stuff on carbs.
