When I mentioned about modifiying the blown engine on my F150, one of the first mods recommended was to fit an oil seperator to the blower inlet manifold to prevent oil vapour getting into it.
Now I have a Saleen Mustang on order with the blown 4.6 motor. Should I be looking at fitting the same seperator.
Also if this is such a recognised mod why havent Ford or Saleen thought about doing it themselves. Especially as the parts needed can be purchased for under £20?

That's interesting, any idea why the oil is considered a bad thing? I'm happy to have unfiltered breather gases plus water injection going through my Eaton blower, allegedly the fluid helps seal the rotors?

oil also helps reduce octane.

yep you get reduced octane. this increase chance of dept. i recon good mods would be an ECU remap, a new blower pully, exhaust and intake.

thanks Chris.

You don't want used engone oil anywhere near anythig that matters, least of all the air intake. Just fit a catch tank with a breather and empty it every month.

I'm amazed how much condensation I get in mine. Barely a trace of oil though, which is encouraging.
