Smiths Tacho information needed
Discussion
I own a smiths tacho no RVI 5000/OOB. It is new but old and i have lost the instructions, i want to fit it to my v8 mustang and the wireing is proveing a problem, i know it is possible for it to be for a 8cyl but the configuration of wireing without info is not apparent. the wires on it are:-
Two white.
One green.
one red+white dash {internal light}.
One red.
one black.
Any help would be appreciated.

The fact that it is an RVI model means it uses a current sensing system, rather than a voltage sense. This is designed to work with a standard contact breaker setup and may not work properly or at all with electronic igntion.
This is from memory so I can't guarnatee this is 100% accurate! The two white wires connect between the ignition coil -ve and the contact breakers (i.e. you break the existing circuit and wire the tacho in series). Green is normaly the switched igntion feed, black is ground. I don't have a clue what the red one is for!
