skoda felicia engine swap

I'm looking at buying a skoda felicia as they are cheap as chips and new enough to still have good shells. But the Petrol in my veins is entertaining the idea of swapping the engine and transmission. it being a VWish car would a newer 1.6 or 1.8 VW engine and gearbox drop in place fairly easily or is it more trouble than its worth for a weekend swap?

any thought and suggestions welcome.

yeah go with the 1.8T! cheap and very tunable!
