4.5 BV

Can anyone shed any light on spec of the 4.5BV engine, is this the same engine as fitted to the early Tuscan (Rover V8) race car?

Basically yes but detuned somewhat. similar to the 450 SE engine, only more powerful

Steve Beresford's engine was certainly very powerful, revved extremely quickly and was said to have a lightened flywheel. Largely superseded by the 500 but did it have a crank that didn't float as the 450s did supposedly necessating a double oil seal?
