Cambelt on a Volvo V70

I have recently bought a 1997 V70 .It has done 71000 miles.
Now Volvo say it should be changed at 80K or 8 years old.

How urgently should I get the cambelt done?

Sounds to me like youve got 9000 miles to go.

...except for the age issue, in which case I'd get it done asap.

Had one on my '01 V70 a couple of months ago. £130 at a local garage, so nothing to get too worked up about.
