The 02 mgf came in with pressurising and it was clear the head gasket was at fault. This was replaced with new bolts ect and head skimmed and new thermostat.
Whats happening now is that the heater works to start off with but when the engine gets hot no longer does. Ive have tried all efeorts to rid any air locks but there is also a one way valve in the cooling system.
Any offers of advise please!

What's the bypass like on that engine?
Does the heater start working again if you squash the top hose flat for thirty seconds? That would indicate that it's simply a lack of water flow through the heater matrix once the stat opens and drops the pressure difference across the heater.
An air lock in the heater matrix could cause that. Have you tried swapping the heater hosese over? Sometimes the heater will only bled in one direction and this has to be the same as the water flow.
What's with the one-way valve; where is it?
