306 Diesel Turbo Engine

Hi all.

Looking for some advice if possible. I am new(ish) to posting here. I am looking for a new/reconditioned Peugeot 306 Turbo diesel XU9DET (i think). Does anyone know of a decent place that I can buy one from and will fit one for me??

Had problems with the turbo last year, fitted a reconditioned part, and that has since blown up!! A new turbo comes in at about 700 quid fitted!! ouch.

I would try and find one from a scrappy but really need a unit that has some sort of warranty on it. Does anywhere sell 'new' engines of this sort anymore??

a different suggestion would be to fit a 2.0 petrol lump in but this means a whole host of other stuff, new fuel tank, brakes, a whole world of issues.

I dont wanna just scrap the car so any ideas or help appreciated.

do Pug still sell the HDI engine??? is this compatable with yours? or is yours the 1.9?

Pug don't manufacture the 2.0 hdi anymore, they still do a 2.2 and recently brought out a 1.6. In answer to the origional post, try yorkshire regrind at Wakefield, these boys usually do a re-con with a 12month warranty and they fit it if you ask them nicely.
