Ignition ECU

Does anybody know a company that sells ignition only ECU's and with knock retard built in. Most ECU's that have the knock function have full ingnition and fuel control and cost a fortune most of which will not be used.

Have a search for some of the MegaSpark projects: ignition only ECU running on MegaSquirt hardware.

Also search for MegaJolt - a similar initiative.

MSD probably does....not sure if they are distributed in the U.K. though.

Most ecu's dont contain koncok control, as they are performance based. False knock can be common for a variety of reasons, so most tend to stay away, and rely on the mapping to get the job done.

Knock control will never be foolproof anyway, so perhaps given the risks associated with relying on it to prevent a blow up, most also stay clear.

After looking at MSD (no 3d map) Omex, Emerald and numerous others the best system will be Megasquirt with integrated knock control. This is by far the best in terms of flexibility to do what I want to do and price. Next step is getting it all to work with the racelogic traction control!
