Hi

I have some RTV sealant which can wistand up to 300 degrees C and which is normally used to seal gaz or coal fire flumes.

Can I use it to seal the inspection plate of the dry sump or should I use something else?

Cheers

Jack

Whats it smell of?
I ask that becuase there two types of "rtv" that i know of.
One stinks of acetic acid as it cures and isnt oil resistant. You can always tell it cos one sniff and your eyes water and nose stings a little.
Usually the same stuff as bath sealer.

The other has a curious smell, thats not unpleasant and is suitable for gearboxes and other metal to metal sealing purposes that involve oils. Pick this one.
HTH.
