HDI pushing out dipstick?
Discussion
Evening all - hoping for a bit of technical advice.
My father has a Pug 406 HDI. He arrived at my house today and we found that the dipstick had lifted (about 1.5 -2 inches). He had just done a 600 mile round trip, but before he went he had checked the oil level and noticed the same thing. Anybody know why this could be happening?

The Peugeot / Citroen HDi engine is sensitive to too much engine oil.
Has ur father recently topped up ?
Have seen plenty of these and previous generation TD (XUD9TE) chucking rods due to too much oil, though often difficult to quantify, many were recently service (not by me!)
Breathers are also a likely cause, they can block up if pootled around, they like to be worked.
