Hi

Could someone explain the procedure to set the adjustable rockers on v8, are they measured preload ? I don't really know much about the question as I'm asking on behalf of a friend, 'MARSHO'

If you're running solid lifters then you set a clearance. I don't think you'd normally use adjustable rockers with hydraulic lifters but in principle you could, in which case you would set a preload.

You're looking to set the preload when the valve is closed. You measure this with a piece of wire inserted between the lifter cup/plunger and the circlip retaining the plunger. Anywhere from .020 to .060" seems to be about right so get some paper clips of different thicknesses and flatten the ends in a vice to get the required thicknesses
