new member,,,,,,,,,,need some help if possible.
i would like to put a electronic shifter set up on a 1989 van dieman (yamaha r1) power.
any suggestions for shifting the arms forward and back via buttons on the steering wheel?
any help appreciated.
would a starter solinoid work?
located in canada.

We used a Translogic Powershift system on our 2004 FS car. It was pretty reliable once it was set up.

We had intended to use it on the 2005 car too, with a manual backup. However, still having to use a foot clutch meant that it proved simpler (in terms of manufacture and for driving) to use the stick shift.

Unlikely its only designed to operate in one direction with a spring return.

You need to determine how much the maximum force is required to change gear and base your solenoid selection on that.
