Hi im hoping that someone here can help me identify
an engine that i bought for my kit car.
i was told it came from a chevy blazer (but im not convinced)
apparently its a great engine
i have uploaded pics to a web adress :-

also i have writen down all the numbers on the engine
main engine number on side is 4104230-318-3
also on opposite side dn 4 1 88 (i think could ,have been 89?)
manifold 4173915 3
head 4027163
also stamped on front of engine nr. pulley 2m 318 04140351

many thanks if i cant identify it im screwed i think

I think it's a 318 Dodge or Chrysler engine, if that helps... I am probably wrong of course

Edited to add: It's a 5.2 litre if I'm right, which would have been fitted to oldish Bristols and Monteverdis as well as the usual Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth stuff. Does that help?

wow thats an amazingly fast responce
many thanks im assuming that the stamp above the round circle(clock) is date of manufacture 4/1/88 what make of engine is it then ? plymouth is car make (im assuming)
is it a chrysler engine ?
do you have any more info that could be useful as im looking to sell this 1 as im now
going to use a different engine in my minotaur kit car.

It's all the same - Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, and yes it's one of them.

Go forth & google, you will find whatever you want from that plus the link I posted...

Also known as Mopar. Hope you didn't pay too much for it.

If your looking for Chevy, stick to chevy - as the parts are cheaper and there's more knowledge on them.

Real Steal(!) sell mopar stuff.
