I've just had a new RPS Max Street clutch and Fidanza flywheel fitted to my MR2 turbo. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for the best way to bed them in. They weren't cheap, and I'd like them to last as long as possible!

I've heard it should take around 400 miles of gentle driving (preferably town driving) although that seems quite a lot. I'm curious if that's still the case when the clutch and flywheel are both brand new as all surfaces should be pretty much flat and unmarked.

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Most yank stuff says to "break it in" for around 4-500 miles of town type driving.

Unless you are pushing the clutch to its lmits as far as power/torque is concerned, then I'd just drive it normal for a few days, then go for it.

Around 200 starts from rest in 1st gear at light throttle should do it.

In the industry we have a more complex procedure for test, but for you this would be adequate.
