Hi everybody, im hoping that somebody will be able to shed some light on my problem.

I cannot get reverse gear on my prelude.
1st to 5th work absolutely fine.
The shifter wont push into reverse at all.

Ive tried driving it forwards, lifting a wheel and pushing it by hand as my dad tries to push it into reverse. All sorts of other messing about but its definately broken somewhere.

So far ive checked the links from the stick to the tranny - they are 100% fine.

Today I have removed the upper section of the gearbox selection levers -
This all looks 100% working as well.
The reverse select cam is free moving and not damaged, all the springs are in place and there is no obvious sign of wear.
The oil is clean and looks new (last service was around 3,000 miles aggo) everything looks near brand new (car has 40,000 on the clock)
Even pushing the selct lever inside the box it just wont budge at all

I think ive checked all the obvious things so im going to remove the gearbox and see if I can investigate further.

Although me and my dad have some experience with this sort of thing we have never taken a honda box to bits, and we are still unsure of what exactly is wrong.

If anybody has any advice or tips on prelude box, or any general advise on gearboxes please help us

Thanks allot.

Matt.
