Parents 306 cabriolet has developed a slight oil leak, diagnosed by an independent garage as from the crankshaft oil leak. common fault or something to get a 2nd opinion on? may be correct as car only did about 1400 miles in its first year

Front or rear seal?

Have experienced the flywheel side going on a regular basis on a 1.6 16valve.

If its the TU engine make sure its not the head gasket leaking from the oil gallery, it drops down on to the altenator first and then onto timing cover making it look like an oil seal leaking.
