Was poking about my engine bay yesterday (one of those car familiarisation days) and noticed that the air box wasnt properly closed on my MR2...!!! Only had the car less than a month but done maybe 1k miles, but would ths have caused any perticular damage?? It wasnt wide open but wasnt sealing properly against the other half either. Not noticed any particular running problems, infact it seems to idle a bit better now that its a sealed up...

Just paraniod that its sucked up a handul of ball bearings thats all......

Shouldn't worry about it. Plenty of people run race cars with no attempt at an air filter at all and rarely run into problems.
