I'm currently looking at modifying a cbr600 to get more power. Except changing cams and valves etc, is there anything external that could be done eg.change plenum shape/design.. Has anyone skimmed the head of a cbr? The exhaust is modified to 4-2-1 already. Thanks.

I've got a GSXR600 (SRAD carbed version). I fitted a race pipe and k&N, had it re-jetted at Brands Hatch Performance Tuners and this raised peak power to 104bhp. Sounded nicer too with better throttle response. 4 horse makes a noticeable difference on a bike weighing 175kgs.

not sure how close the vakves are to the piston tops, so skimming might lead to contact between them! not good. i think oyu're best doing the above mods first after that and i think you have to start looking at more majour stuff (like you said). someone might beable to do some port work for you though, but not suire about any gains!
