Hot Tanking?

Hi all,
– I’ve an engine (Rover V8) that needs to be cleaned – read around some forums that you can have them hot-tanked, which removes all the grime & crap that has built up over the years, although 'googling' the hot-tanking doesn’t seem to bring many UK specialists, is this a US term only – do we say something different? .

Does anyone know anywhere that does this or could point me in the right direction in the London/Surrey area and how much does it cost?

Sounds like an acid dip which is what you normally do for a rebuild.

Look in the Yellow pages for 'engine reconditioners', they should have facility's to hot tank or acid bath a block.
