Ka 1.3 diagnosis help needed

Got a ka which idles roughly, lumpy, it sort of rocks the car as the engine jumps around!

driving along it stutters, i put my foot down and nothing happens then it jolts into life, and then stumbles and stutters and them cuts in again.
The engine doesnt cut out, it just doesn't pull evenly as something seems to work, and then stops working again and then starts working again.

My theories are

one cylinder is not firing
bad plug
bad ht lead
kanckered injector
lambda sensor had it

any raise on the above? TIA

If your having a mis fire issue, it'll show up on 2 cylinders because of the wasted spark system.

Throttle switch and map sensors could also create symptoms you describe.

Have you had a look at the plugs?

Check the compressions, this engine is very common for a misfire at idle, and is usually the valves not seating proparly due to the valve seats working loose.

Cheers Numbnuts. i will take a look tomorrow. I have got a compression tester so that will be a simple job.

Guys, thanks for the nods. this turned out to be a shagged coil. Much better now.
