Vauxhall Zafira 2013 - Bubbling Noise now Whistling Noise

Hi,

I am hoping someone can help me. I know very little about cars, so apologies.

Last Wednesday, I took delivery of a used 2013 Vauxhall Zafira. It had done just over 73,000 miles. The next morning, after having driven it down the motorway at about 65mph for ten minutes, I could hear bubbling noises from the passenger side. I got it back to my local garage and they could find nothing wrong having checked the coolant and head gasket. They did repair a crack in an exhaust section. The next day, when I got back from the garage, the engine smelt of 'engine'. Sorry, the best description I can do!

All has been fine since then, until this morning, having parked after a 15 mile journey, with ignition still on, I could hear a small whistling noise. I listened to it for a minutes. Then, turning off the engine, the whistling sound died with the engine. I did this a couple of times and it made the same small whistling sound.

Does anyone have any ideas?
