Hi folks just bought a peogout 207 1.4 petrol 2008 and keep loosing water from the reservoir, have no oil leak but keep having an oil pressure fault come up.
No white smoke out the exhaust or white milk in the oil.
Their is a whining noise coming from the engine I though it was the bearing in the wheel but I’m suspecting it’s the water pump. Have it in the garage to get changed but messaging to hear if it could be worse if I go ahead with the water pump thanks for any input

Throw the water pump in and see how you get on, can't make it worse.

What's the oil pressure fault that you are seeing? Why not ask the garage to check the pressure and see if it's within spec?

It keeps saying oil pressure fault and the temperature is sitting at 90 regular and the oil pressure is just below half way, will ask the garage to check the oil pressure when he gets to it but only comes on when it’s been run for a few hours and then the water dumps, only thing I can put my finger on apart from the gasket it the water pump

It just says oil pressure fault on the middle console and beeps and then I seen smoke come from the area where the water pump is

Wild guess this, but if the oil pressure switch is near the water pump and the pump is dumping hot coolant onto it, there's your connection...

The kit ranges from £58 to £100+ on ebay.
Gates kit £97.
If you wanted to DIY.

As the timing belt has got to come off to do the pump you are best fitting a new belt & tensioner.
Not difficult, plenty of youtube 'how tos'
