Hi,
In Jan my partner got herself a 2012 Civic with FSH and 74k miles.
We've noticed it is going through oil at an alarming rate. Unfortunately I've not tracked the mileage between topups as I don't drive it, but starting to now. I've easily put in about 1.5L in about a month and she really doesn't do many miles. I've read the 1.8 2012 model had dodgy piston rings which can result in excessive oil burning. I've not seen any blue smoke, the car runs like an absolute dream, very quiet and everything works.
Should we get rid? Or are there any common oil leak areas, or anything I can do to reduce the oil consumption?
I've not yet been under it to inspect for leaks, but there are no drips on the driveway so I'm assuming it's burning it.
TIA

That sounds extremely excessive.

Are you sure levels are correct, and method of measuring etc ??....just in case, strange things have happened.
