Please can someone help... I bought my 2015 L200 in March or April and this has what's happened so far.

I bought it knowing there were slight oil leaks found at the last MOT, other than that it appeared to drive fine, had mechanic check it on day of purchase and he wasn't worried about oil leak, told me it was an injector seal and seemed to be a good buy.

A few weeks later, I picked up a horse trailer and notice a little smoke when accelerating up hill. I took it to my mechanic to check, I asked him to do a few little jobs, oil leak, fan belt, air con re-gas and have a look why smoking. He had it for a while and advised that an injector needs replacing. One injector turned into 3 injectors (over weeks and weeks of time), then he couldn't get them out and everything seemed to go wrong. Fast forward a few months, the 3 injectors were changed, I had it back, still smoking.
He had it back, then advised the forth injector would need to be changed as well. This was done. Had it back, still smoking! He then advises that the original 3 (new) injectors may be faulty and the manufacturer offered to replace. So these were replaced. Some tappets were replaced, several oil leaks fixed. Maybe other stuff that I can't remember. Had it back but it was still slightly smoking and I wasn't happy with it. I also questioned that it seemed to be ticking over really low (it wasn't before), which was causing a rattle and asked if it could be adjusted but he said it couldn't be changed.
He told me that they do smoke slightly when you put your foot down etc. I wasn't convinced, also it was still leaking oil. He had the truck on and off keeping it for weeks/months at a time. Then the MOT was due and it failed on emissions, therefore he had to have it back. Apparently he then changed a pipe to the turbo, re-tested it and it passed. I must admit there was no obvious smoke after this only at night, I could see some in the car behind, in their headlights. He suggested adding some forte, oil fortifier treatment, which I did. It seemed to running ok and I even managed to take the horses on a short outing.

Everything seemed to be going ok, although I still had an oil leak (which he told me was coming from the turbo) and then a few weeks ago, after travelling an hour in it, it just cut out at some traffic lights whilst at standstill. It restarted ok but did it again a few miles up the road as I was turning into a junction.
There was a local garage and the mechanic kindly looked at it for me (as I had an hours drive to get back home). He couldn't find anything obvious, mentioned maybe an air leak. He said there should be oil leaking from the turbo. I thought I'd be ok to get home as only seemed to be cutting out at low speed. I just about managed to get home, it didn't cut out until I was off the motorway, stopping at lights etc.

So back it went to him again. Initially he said it could be the throttle sticking or the EGR valve but was struggling to find the cause.
It's still there and he's mentioned that it could be the turbo and would like to replace the cartridge. Then yesterday he said he's ordered a new fuel filter. Now he's mentioning that it might be the fuel pump or the valve at the back of it. So still no answers, still no truck. Haven't been able to use it for taking horses anywhere all year, which what I bought it for. I have spent £2150 on it so far...

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions, I am at my wits end.

Another vote for change your mechanic - he’s guessing at your expense

Cutting out when idling can be the valve on the back of the fuel pump - the suction control valve.
When you change pump or injectors you should have to do an adaptation using a scan tool on the fuel pump / SCV which will likely fix its tendency to cut out at idle. Costs nothing but time.
What you don’t do is jump on the parts cannon and change it!

It was very helpful

Only 2 options, so not even confusing.

Your first one....hard to know, but he's throwing a lot of parts at it, and we can never know what testing or reasoning there is behind this, nor the quality of any parts fitted.

The other one who said a turbo should be leaking oil.....well that statement is as true as a human should be leaking blood.

No, don't go back to him with anything, especially not your vehicle.
