Hi all.

Having issues with clutch on my car. Initial symptoms were the pedal becoming notch, and hard to move smoothly slowly especially when the car was hot.

Took to garage, they advised clutch replacement, so this was done. It did not appear to resolve the issue- the position of the pedal where the firmness occurred changed, but the issue was still there. In addition, I now have a vibration or buzz felt though the pedal, mostly befor and after the bite point. The engaging of the clutch at the bite point can feel a bit odd/juddery sometimes, especially when on a hill.

The garage is saying there is no issue and they can’t feel the problem, but I do 10k miles a year in the car so k know how it felt before and I know it’s not right now.

The garage bled the clutch after the replacement and the original issue - notchiness - is almost entirely gone now. So I’m annoyed if that was all it needed.

So I think I have two issues now. The vibration/buzzing feeling, and also some slight ‘weird feel’ when engaging on slopes etc. the driveshaft is worn, but only the manufacturer makes the part. They packed the driveshaft bearing with grease to see if this alleviates the issues, but it made no difference to the clutch or vibration at all.

Does anyone have any advice? I’m gutted as the car now feels pants to drive. 2008 Mazda 2 1.3.

Do you think they actually changed the clutch?

I have no reason to think they didn’t. They showed me the old one. And the pedal feels different following the change. Symptoms are similar, but in different points, and the bite feels worse when on hill.
